Punk Will Never Die for Artificial Dissemination 2

PHANTOM HAND is doing a show based around propaganda posters called "Artificial Dissemination 2: Propaganda to Popaganda." For this, I chose to use an image of the detained punks in Indonesia. If you're not familiar with the story, Indonesian police raided a punk fest, and put all of the punks in a camp to convert them to Islam, after a week in the camp, a reporter was there and one of the punks exclaimed "Punk will never die!" I felt that was a good rally call for them, and this story hasn't gotten much coverage. I actually don't know if they're still in the camps or not.
The painting was done in my usual spray paint and stencil style, on a 13"x19" poster frame. I sprayed the black, then taped off the border, so that the square in the center would be crisp. Unfortunately since I had to spray the white letters like 5 times, there was some overspray. I then re-assembled the frame, so it looks more like a framed poster, but is indeed an original.

Mummy Boy for Super7's Mummy Mania contest

Super7 is having a contest to paint their mascot, Mummy Boy, called Mummy Mania! To coincide with this, they released a large and pocket sized unpainted flesh tone toys for people to buy and paint. The winner in each category will be produced, which is a pretty rad prize.
I wanted to keep the paint somewhat simple, using a style similar to what they've done before, but using spray paint and a paint marker. I went with a somewhat realistic mummy color scheme, and followed the detail lines with a paint marker. Usually when I do this style of toy, I like to use a clear base and paint the inside, so I was a little worried about going too thick on the paint. Also, my paint marker died early on, so I had to do some improvising. He will be exhibited and for sale at the Mummy Mania! Customs from the Crypt Show on Saturday, January 28th, 2012, at the Super7 Store (1427 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA 94117). Doors open at 6PM Pacific.
